Map Critique of a Well Design Map and a Poorly Design Map

Here we are in week 2 of Computer Cartography! In this week's lab we spent time learning what goes into a well design map and how to decipher if a map has been poorly designed. We were assigned to find two maps, one that was well designed and one that was poorly designed and critique them. This is to give us a better understanding of Cartography and the importance of creating a well design map. It was also to help us to start to find our own type styling in this vast world of Cartography. It was eye opening to me how many poorly design maps are floating around. the confusing ones are not too harmful, just hurts your head trying to figure out what the purpose is. But then there is the poorly design ones that can be quite harmful, with miss leading the audience with map lies. It is important to learn all the map principles to help create a beautiful, informative, truthful map.
