 Here is a link to the outcome of Lab 5. This week's adventure was all about obtaining and preparing data for geocoding and creating an address locator. I started off by grabbing ahold of some data from Florida Department of Education and entering it into an excel spreadsheet. I then had to clean the data that was retrieved in order for it to be used in GISpro. I then had to retrieve data from US Census Bureau Geography Program to create an address locator. Once done with obtaining, cleaning and creating address location I was all set to load it all into GISpro and get to work on geocoding. Once I had selected my new map and added a user friendly base map and map projection I added my shapefiles. Now I was ready to do my geocoding by address mapping. Using the geocoding tools and ironing out a few common geocoding issues, I was all set to share my outcome. Had a couple hiccup's when sharing to the web, but nothing that the options button wasn't able to assist with!
